Character Profile - The Razvan Daughter, Bianca Razvan

The Razvan Daughter: Bianca Razvan

Bianca Razvan is her father’s daughter.  Ripped from a middle-class Romanian life of finishing school and fencing lessons, she embraced Victor’s decision to resign his professorship to hunt a ruthless vampire.  From the ancient libraries of Constantinople to the icy fjords of Norway, Bianca has stood by her father every step of the way.  The striking young woman has proven her mettle time and again, never failing to use her razor sharp saber, or her even sharper wit, in times of trouble.  Occasionally, the father-daughter pair struggle between his insistence on meticulous study and her penchant for impetuous action, but their trust in each other never wavers.  Now they face their greatest challenge yet as their mission becomes entangled with an official London police investigation.

Character Profile - The Professor, Victor Razvan

The Professor:  Victor Razvan
Victor Razvan is a distinguished Romanian scholar and an accomplished historian of the late 19th century.  Having spent more than 40 years denying his family roots, Victor was thrust back into the dark realm of the supernatural.  Formerly a professor at the University of Bucharest, Victor resigned his position to focus his attention exclusively on the world of the paranormal and the occult.  In so doing, Victor has benefitted from his research and has spent almost a decade hunting an unusual prey across continents.  His quest now brings him to London where he is close on the heels of a vampire prowling the streets at night.  So close to his prize, he finds himself in the path of a single-minded Scotland Yard inspector.  Victor must now delicately navigate his way around the London police, lest he lose the chance to snare his prey.

Character Profile - The Inspector, Garrett Ryan

The Scotland Yard Inspector:  Garrett Ryan
Garrett Ryan is a capable, Victorian-era, police inspector struggling through the ranks of Scotland Yard.  He is a man torn between his penchant for methodical investigation and his astonishingly accurate instincts.  Personal demons from his past drive him to conform to proper procedure, yet he hates to placate those of power and influence.  Due to his lack of political savvy, Garrett has been relegated to the unnoticed work of unsolved cases.  His talent as a detective made him a master at resolving previously sloppy police work.  This success now gives Garrett the opportunity to escape the drudgery.  He is charged with the mystery of a missing nobleman.  However, the investigation is stymied by an inexplicable lack of resources, and he is forced to form an uneasy alliance with a brash, American gunfighter who has personal ties to the case.
