In this Victorian-era story, in the shadows of London, a promising, young Scotland Yard detective, named Garrett Ryan, investigates the disappearance of a British nobleman and his fiancee. Desperate for a break in his first big case, Ryan reluctantly joins forces with a mysterious American gunfighter, named Mitch Cavanaugh. During their investigation, this unlikely pair uncover clues that lead to an underworld of paranormal activity linked to an elite clandestine society struggling to keep a dark secret from being discovered.
As the conspiracy unravels, Ryan and Cavanaugh learn how a series of multiple murders, and the nobleman's kidnapping, lead to a prophecy of worldwide Apocalypse.
